Took care of a few misc items. Made a couple of degree bend in the cable adjusters C03-24 so the rudder cables would clear the forward verticals, F12-03 R/L. Finished fitting the upper cowl attach angles, F09-02 R/L. Bolted on the windshield mount angles D02-24 L/R as well as the throttle quadrant mounting angle P01-04. Riveted the Dial-A-Trim mount C05-04 to the instrument panel.
I'm always a little reluctant to finally close up a major component, feeling something needs to be done down the road that would be easier if things weren't closed up. But I decided it was time to install the forward bottom skin panel since the plans suggest it is the next thing to do. I installed about 200 rivets to complete the bottom of the F09-01 fuselage box assembly.
I left out rivets on the forward gear attach angle F08-09 since it will be removed for drilling the main gear stiffener F08-11. When the stiffener gets attached to the main spar, this is one of the items that might have been easier with the bottom forward skin off, but others have done the installation with the bottom in place, so I guess it can be done.
